Corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activity.
Dexamethasone 8 mg / 2 ml.
DEXAMETHASONE MIAMED is indicated for the treatment of a wide range of inflammatory and severe allergic conditions when corticosteroid therapy is required and oral treatment is not feasible. It is administered via different injection routes depending on the condition:
1. Intravenous (IV) or Intramuscular (IM) Injection:
• Endocrine Disorders: Such as corticosteroid insufficiency.
• Rheumatic Diseases: Such as rheumatoid arthritis.
• Allergic Conditions: Such as bronchial asthma resistant to conventional therapies.
• Collagen Diseases: Such as systemic lupus erythematosus.
• Dermatological Diseases: Severe cases such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
• Ophthalmic Diseases: Acute and severe inflammations such as uveitis.
• Gastrointestinal Diseases: Critical stages of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
• Respiratory Diseases: Such as symptomatic sarcoidosis.
• Hematological Disorders: Such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia.
• Neoplastic Diseases: As part of palliative management in leukemia.
• Edematous States: Such as nephrotic syndrome.
• Nervous System: Cerebral edema resulting from tumors or head injuries.
2. Subcutaneous Application: In palliative care for the relief of symptoms such as extreme fatigue, resistant nausea, or spinal cord compression symptoms.
3. Intra-articular or Soft Tissue Injection: As short-term adjunctive therapy in joint inflammations (acute phase or exacerbation).
4. Intralesional Injection: Localized inflammatory lesions such as keloids, psoriasis, or alopecia areata.
